Picton is a NSW suburb in Wingecarribee LGA, matched to postcode 2571 — also covering Balmoral, Balmoral Village, Buxton and nearby localities. New rental bonds in that postcode had a median weekly rent of $700 in 2025, up 7.7% from $650 in 2024. That is close to the NSW median of $695. Bond medians describe new lodgements with Fair Trading, not every current lease in the suburb. Picton recorded 280 criminal incidents in the 12 months to March 2026, up 27.3% from 220 a year earlier. These are police-recorded incidents, not convictions, and they are not adjusted for how many people live or visit here. House bonds typically leased at $720 a week and flats/units at $400. Two-bedroom bonds had a median of $450; three-bedroom bonds $580. One-bedroom bonds sat at $375 a week. Four-bedroom bonds sat at $750 a week. Half of new bonds sat between $490 and $800 a week. Fair Trading recorded 375 new bonds in the postcode in 2025. Over 2021–2025 the postcode median moved from $475 to $700 a week. Because several suburbs share the postcode, the rent charts are a postcode picture, not a street-level one. Property offences totalled 81 and violent-related offences 75. Against justice procedures made up the largest published share (77 incidents, 28%). Next was Theft (60). The crime series is coded to this suburb name; the rent series, where shown, is the whole postcode.
