New Brighton is a NSW suburb in Tweed LGA, matched to postcode 2483 — also covering Billinudgel, Brunswick Heads, Burringbar and nearby localities. New rental bonds in that postcode had a median weekly rent of $800 in 2025, up 6.7% from $750 in 2024. That is about 15% above the NSW median of $695. Bond medians describe new lodgements with Fair Trading, not every current lease in the suburb. New Brighton recorded 39 criminal incidents in the 12 months to March 2026. These are police-recorded incidents, not convictions, and they are not adjusted for how many people live or visit here. House bonds typically leased at $900 a week and flats/units at $600. Townhouse bonds sat at $860 a week. Two-bedroom bonds had a median of $650; three-bedroom bonds $900. One-bedroom bonds sat at $500 a week. Four-bedroom bonds sat at $1,150 a week. Half of new bonds sat between $629 and $976 a week. Fair Trading recorded 351 new bonds in the postcode in 2025. Over 2021–2025 the postcode median moved from $650 to $800 a week. Because several suburbs share the postcode, the rent charts are a postcode picture, not a street-level one. Property offences totalled 9 and violent-related offences 12. Liquor offences made up the largest published share (11 incidents, 28%). Next was Theft (6). The crime series is coded to this suburb name; the rent series, where shown, is the whole postcode.
