Bond medians describe new lodgements with Fair Trading, not every current lease in the suburb. Mullumbimby recorded 424 criminal incidents in the 12 months to March 2026, up 19.4% from 355 a year earlier. These are police-recorded incidents, not convictions, and they are not adjusted for how many people live or visit here. House bonds typically leased at $850 a week and flats/units at $580. Two-bedroom bonds had a median of $650; three-bedroom bonds $850. One-bedroom bonds sat at $475 a week. Four-bedroom bonds sat at $1,050 a week. Half of new bonds sat between $600 and $950 a week. Fair Trading recorded 196 new bonds in the postcode in 2025. Over 2021–2025 the postcode median moved from $650 to $780 a week. Because several suburbs share the postcode, the rent charts are a postcode picture, not a street-level one. Property offences totalled 179 and violent-related offences 129. Theft made up the largest published share (139 incidents, 33%). Next was Assault (62). The crime series is coded to this suburb name; the rent series, where shown, is the whole postcode.
