Yelgun is a NSW suburb in Tweed LGA, matched to postcode 2483 — also covering Billinudgel, Brunswick Heads, Burringbar and nearby localities. New rental bonds in that postcode had a median weekly rent of $800 in 2025, up 6.7% from $750 in 2024. That is about 15% above the NSW median of $695. Bond medians describe new lodgements with Fair Trading, not every current lease in the suburb. Yelgun recorded 22 criminal incidents in the 12 months to March 2026. These are police-recorded incidents, not convictions, and they are not adjusted for how many people live or visit here. House bonds typically leased at $900 a week and flats/units at $600. Townhouse bonds sat at $860 a week. Two-bedroom bonds had a median of $650; three-bedroom bonds $900. One-bedroom bonds sat at $500 a week. Four-bedroom bonds sat at $1,150 a week. Half of new bonds sat between $629 and $976 a week. Fair Trading recorded 351 new bonds in the postcode in 2025. Over 2021–2025 the postcode median moved from $650 to $800 a week. Because several suburbs share the postcode, the rent charts are a postcode picture, not a street-level one. Property offences totalled 11 and violent-related offences 3. Theft made up the largest published share (8 incidents, 36%). Next was Against justice procedures (6). The crime series is coded to this suburb name; the rent series, where shown, is the whole postcode.
