Darlinghurst recorded 1,922 criminal incidents in the 12 months to March 2026, up 10.2% from 1,744 a year earlier. These are police-recorded incidents, not convictions, and they are not adjusted for how many people live or visit here. House bonds typically leased at $1,185 a week and flats/units at $750. Townhouse bonds sat at $1,100 a week. Two-bedroom bonds had a median of $1,000; three-bedroom bonds $1,400. One-bedroom bonds sat at $700 a week. Four-bedroom bonds sat at $1,650 a week. Half of new bonds sat between $630 and $1,000 a week. Fair Trading recorded 3,222 new bonds in the postcode in 2025. Over 2021–2025 the postcode median moved from $550 to $790 a week. Because several suburbs share the postcode, the rent charts are a postcode picture, not a street-level one. Property offences totalled 579 and violent-related offences 515. Theft made up the largest published share (454 incidents, 24%). Next was Drug offences (333). The crime series is coded to this suburb name; the rent series, where shown, is the whole postcode.
