Bargo is a NSW suburb in Wollongong LGA, matched to postcode 2574 — also covering Avon, Pheasants Nest, Yanderra. New rental bonds in that postcode had a median weekly rent of $590 in 2025, up 1.7% from $580 in 2024. That is about 15% below the NSW median of $695. Bond medians describe new lodgements with Fair Trading, not every current lease in the suburb. Bargo recorded 214 criminal incidents in the 12 months to March 2026, up 25.1% from 171 a year earlier. These are police-recorded incidents, not convictions, and they are not adjusted for how many people live or visit here. House bonds typically leased at $595 a week. Four-bedroom bonds sat at $650 a week. Half of new bonds sat between $540 and $700 a week. Fair Trading recorded 57 new bonds in the postcode in 2025. Over 2021–2025 the postcode median moved from $488 to $590 a week. Because several suburbs share the postcode, the rent charts are a postcode picture, not a street-level one. Property offences totalled 86 and violent-related offences 69. Theft made up the largest published share (52 incidents, 24%). Next was Assault (36). The crime series is coded to this suburb name; the rent series, where shown, is the whole postcode. The two windows are not identical: rents are calendar year, recorded crime is the 12 months to March 2026. Some person-offence categories are not itemised here because suburb geography under-counts them.
