Tarro is a NSW suburb in Cessnock LGA, matched to postcode 2322 — also covering Beresfield, Black Hill, Chisholm and nearby localities. New rental bonds in that postcode had a median weekly rent of $640 in 2025, up 6.7% from $600 in 2024. That is about 8% below the NSW median of $695. Bond medians describe new lodgements with Fair Trading, not every current lease in the suburb. Tarro recorded 102 criminal incidents in the 12 months to March 2026, up 21.4% from 84 a year earlier. These are police-recorded incidents, not convictions, and they are not adjusted for how many people live or visit here. House bonds typically leased at $650 a week and flats/units at $520. Townhouse bonds sat at $620 a week. Two-bedroom bonds had a median of $500; three-bedroom bonds $600. One-bedroom bonds sat at $350 a week. Four-bedroom bonds sat at $710 a week. Half of new bonds sat between $550 and $700 a week. Fair Trading recorded 931 new bonds in the postcode in 2025. Over 2021–2025 the postcode median moved from $450 to $640 a week. Because several suburbs share the postcode, the rent charts are a postcode picture, not a street-level one. Transport regulatory offences were 29 (28% of the total); excluding them, the count is 73. Fare and parking enforcement can move that category independently of neighbourhood property or violent crime.
