Stanmore is a NSW suburb in Inner West LGA, matched to postcode 2048 — also covering Westgate. New rental bonds in that postcode had a median weekly rent of $682 in 2025, up 4.9% from $650 in 2024. That is close to the NSW median of $695. Bond medians describe new lodgements with Fair Trading, not every current lease in the suburb. Stanmore recorded 353 criminal incidents in the 12 months to March 2026, down 18.7% from 434 a year earlier. These are police-recorded incidents, not convictions, and they are not adjusted for how many people live or visit here. House bonds typically leased at $1,100 a week and flats/units at $650. Townhouse bonds sat at $980 a week. Two-bedroom bonds had a median of $735; three-bedroom bonds $1,150. One-bedroom bonds sat at $620 a week. Four-bedroom bonds sat at $1,500 a week. Half of new bonds sat between $576 and $850 a week. Fair Trading recorded 549 new bonds in the postcode in 2025. Over 2021–2025 the postcode median moved from $460 to $682 a week. Because several suburbs share the postcode, the rent charts are a postcode picture, not a street-level one. Property offences totalled 193 and violent-related offences 74. Theft made up the largest published share (164 incidents, 46%). Next was Against justice procedures (33). The crime series is coded to this suburb name; the rent series, where shown, is the whole postcode.
