Nelson (The Hills Shire) recorded 31 criminal incidents in the 12 months to March 2026, up 3.3% from 30 a year earlier. These are police-recorded incidents, not convictions, and they are not adjusted for how many people live or visit here. House bonds typically leased at $525 a week and flats/units at $400. Townhouse bonds sat at $620 a week. Two-bedroom bonds had a median of $450; three-bedroom bonds $540. One-bedroom bonds sat at $360 a week. Four-bedroom bonds sat at $610 a week. Half of new bonds sat between $441 and $590 a week. Fair Trading recorded 306 new bonds in the postcode in 2025. Over 2021–2025 the postcode median moved from $400 to $500 a week. Because several suburbs share the postcode, the rent charts are a postcode picture, not a street-level one. Property offences totalled 12 and violent-related offences 13. Intimidation, stalking and harassment made up the largest published share (7 incidents, 23%). Next was Assault (6).
