Merrylands is a NSW suburb in Parramatta LGA, matched to postcode 2160 — also covering Merrylands West. New rental bonds in that postcode had a median weekly rent of $630 in 2025, up 3.3% from $610 in 2024. That is about 9% below the NSW median of $695. Bond medians describe new lodgements with Fair Trading, not every current lease in the suburb. Merrylands recorded 3,064 criminal incidents in the 12 months to March 2026, down 1.4% from 3,108 a year earlier. These are police-recorded incidents, not convictions, and they are not adjusted for how many people live or visit here. House bonds typically leased at $700 a week and flats/units at $620. Townhouse bonds sat at $728 a week. Two-bedroom bonds had a median of $600; three-bedroom bonds $725. One-bedroom bonds sat at $600 a week. Four-bedroom bonds sat at $900 a week. Half of new bonds sat between $550 and $750 a week. Fair Trading recorded 2,009 new bonds in the postcode in 2025. Over 2021–2025 the postcode median moved from $400 to $630 a week. Because several suburbs share the postcode, the rent charts are a postcode picture, not a street-level one. Property offences totalled 1,022 and violent-related offences 603. Theft made up the largest published share (872 incidents, 28%). Next was Against justice procedures (670). The crime series is coded to this suburb name; the rent series, where shown, is the whole postcode.
