Merewether Heights recorded 28 criminal incidents in the 12 months to March 2026, down 15.2% from 33 a year earlier. These are police-recorded incidents, not convictions, and they are not adjusted for how many people live or visit here. House bonds typically leased at $850 a week and flats/units at $600. Townhouse bonds sat at $750 a week. Two-bedroom bonds had a median of $620; three-bedroom bonds $850. One-bedroom bonds sat at $480 a week. Four-bedroom bonds sat at $1,200 a week. Half of new bonds sat between $590 and $900 a week. Fair Trading recorded 554 new bonds in the postcode in 2025. Over 2021–2025 the postcode median moved from $518 to $700 a week. Because several suburbs share the postcode, the rent charts are a postcode picture, not a street-level one. Property offences totalled 22 and violent-related offences 4. Theft made up the largest published share (20 incidents, 71%). Next was Malicious damage to property (2). The crime series is coded to this suburb name; the rent series, where shown, is the whole postcode.
