Mardi is a NSW suburb in Cessnock LGA, matched to postcode 2259 — also covering Alison, Bushells Ridge, Cedar Brush Creek and nearby localities. New rental bonds in that postcode had a median weekly rent of $650 in 2025, up 8.3% from $600 in 2024. That is about 6% below the NSW median of $695. Bond medians describe new lodgements with Fair Trading, not every current lease in the suburb. Mardi recorded 201 criminal incidents in the 12 months to March 2026, down 9.9% from 223 a year earlier. These are police-recorded incidents, not convictions, and they are not adjusted for how many people live or visit here. House bonds typically leased at $680 a week and flats/units at $475. Townhouse bonds sat at $570 a week. Two-bedroom bonds had a median of $490; three-bedroom bonds $600. One-bedroom bonds sat at $380 a week. Four-bedroom bonds sat at $750 a week. Half of new bonds sat between $520 and $750 a week. Fair Trading recorded 1,813 new bonds in the postcode in 2025. Over 2021–2025 the postcode median moved from $480 to $650 a week. Because several suburbs share the postcode, the rent charts are a postcode picture, not a street-level one. Property offences totalled 117 and violent-related offences 51. Theft made up the largest published share (93 incidents, 46%). Next was Assault (27). The crime series is coded to this suburb name; the rent series, where shown, is the whole postcode.
