Lawson is a NSW suburb in Blue Mountains LGA, matched to postcode 2783. New rental bonds in that postcode had a median weekly rent of $590 in 2025, up 7.3% from $550 in 2024. That is about 15% below the NSW median of $695. Bond medians describe new lodgements with Fair Trading, not every current lease in the suburb. Lawson recorded 99 criminal incidents in the 12 months to March 2026, down 8.3% from 108 a year earlier. These are police-recorded incidents, not convictions, and they are not adjusted for how many people live or visit here. House bonds typically leased at $600 a week. Half of new bonds sat between $510 and $650 a week. Fair Trading recorded 46 new bonds in the postcode in 2025. Over 2021–2025 the postcode median moved from $460 to $590 a week. Property offences totalled 43 and violent-related offences 31. Theft made up the largest published share (23 incidents, 23%). Next was Malicious damage to property (19). The crime series is coded to this suburb name; the rent series, where shown, is the whole postcode. The two windows are not identical: rents are calendar year, recorded crime is the 12 months to March 2026. Some person-offence categories are not itemised here because suburb geography under-counts them. Do not rank this suburb as more or less dangerous from the raw incident total. Until population is joined, a high count can simply mean more people, more visitors, or more policing.
