Kandos is a NSW suburb in Lithgow LGA, matched to postcode 2848 — also covering Brogans Creek, Charbon, Clandulla. New rental bonds in that postcode had a median weekly rent of $350 in 2025, up 9.4% from $320 in 2024. That is about 50% below the NSW median of $695. Bond medians describe new lodgements with Fair Trading, not every current lease in the suburb. Kandos recorded 108 criminal incidents in the 12 months to March 2026, down 28.5% from 151 a year earlier. These are police-recorded incidents, not convictions, and they are not adjusted for how many people live or visit here. House bonds typically leased at $360 a week. Two-bedroom bonds had a median of $300; three-bedroom bonds $380. Four-bedroom bonds sat at $420 a week. Half of new bonds sat between $300 and $380 a week. Fair Trading recorded 63 new bonds in the postcode in 2025. Over 2021–2025 the postcode median moved from $250 to $350 a week. Because several suburbs share the postcode, the rent charts are a postcode picture, not a street-level one. Property offences totalled 28 and violent-related offences 51. Intimidation, stalking and harassment made up the largest published share (22 incidents, 20%). Next was Theft (21). The crime series is coded to this suburb name; the rent series, where shown, is the whole postcode. The two windows are not identical: rents are calendar year, recorded crime is the 12 months to March 2026.
