Alfords Point is a NSW suburb in Sutherland LGA, matched to postcode 2234 — also covering Bangor, Barden Ridge, Illawong and nearby localities. New rental bonds in that postcode had a median weekly rent of $938 in 2025, up 10.4% from $850 in 2024. That is about 35% above the NSW median of $695. Bond medians describe new lodgements with Fair Trading, not every current lease in the suburb. Alfords Point recorded 74 criminal incidents in the 12 months to March 2026, up 15.6% from 64 a year earlier. These are police-recorded incidents, not convictions, and they are not adjusted for how many people live or visit here. House bonds typically leased at $1,050 a week and flats/units at $625. Townhouse bonds sat at $860 a week. Two-bedroom bonds had a median of $692; three-bedroom bonds $870. Four-bedroom bonds sat at $1,100 a week. Half of new bonds sat between $800 and $1,150 a week. Fair Trading recorded 222 new bonds in the postcode in 2025. Over 2021–2025 the postcode median moved from $680 to $938 a week. Because several suburbs share the postcode, the rent charts are a postcode picture, not a street-level one. Property offences totalled 18 and violent-related offences 19. Other offences made up the largest published share (20 incidents, 27%). Next was Theft (15). The crime series is coded to this suburb name; the rent series, where shown, is the whole postcode.
