Young is a NSW suburb in Weddin LGA, matched to postcode 2594 — also covering Ashville, Barwang, Berthong and nearby localities. New rental bonds in that postcode had a median weekly rent of $420 in 2025, up 15.1% from $365 in 2024. That is about 40% below the NSW median of $695. Bond medians describe new lodgements with Fair Trading, not every current lease in the suburb. Young recorded 1,341 criminal incidents in the 12 months to March 2026, up 17.6% from 1,140 a year earlier. These are police-recorded incidents, not convictions, and they are not adjusted for how many people live or visit here. House bonds typically leased at $450 a week and flats/units at $293. Townhouse bonds sat at $365 a week. Two-bedroom bonds had a median of $320; three-bedroom bonds $445. One-bedroom bonds sat at $230 a week. Four-bedroom bonds sat at $500 a week. Half of new bonds sat between $320 and $470 a week. Fair Trading recorded 309 new bonds in the postcode in 2025. Over 2021–2025 the postcode median moved from $290 to $420 a week. Because several suburbs share the postcode, the rent charts are a postcode picture, not a street-level one. Property offences totalled 374 and violent-related offences 322. Against justice procedures made up the largest published share (278 incidents, 21%). Next was Theft (231). The crime series is coded to this suburb name; the rent series, where shown, is the whole postcode.
