West Kempsey is a NSW suburb in Port Macquarie-Hastings LGA, matched to postcode 2440 — also covering Aldavilla, Austral Eden, Bellbrook and nearby localities. New rental bonds in that postcode had a median weekly rent of $450 in 2025, up 5.9% from $425 in 2024. That is about 35% below the NSW median of $695. Bond medians describe new lodgements with Fair Trading, not every current lease in the suburb. West Kempsey recorded 1,709 criminal incidents in the 12 months to March 2026, up 20.4% from 1,419 a year earlier. These are police-recorded incidents, not convictions, and they are not adjusted for how many people live or visit here. House bonds typically leased at $480 a week and flats/units at $310. Townhouse bonds sat at $472 a week. Two-bedroom bonds had a median of $390; three-bedroom bonds $480. One-bedroom bonds sat at $244 a week. Four-bedroom bonds sat at $590 a week. Half of new bonds sat between $350 and $520 a week. Fair Trading recorded 515 new bonds in the postcode in 2025. Over 2021–2025 the postcode median moved from $350 to $450 a week. Because several suburbs share the postcode, the rent charts are a postcode picture, not a street-level one. Property offences totalled 512 and violent-related offences 416. Against justice procedures made up the largest published share (585 incidents, 34%). Next was Theft (328). The crime series is coded to this suburb name; the rent series, where shown, is the whole postcode.
