Wardell is a NSW suburb in Lismore LGA, matched to postcode 2477 — also covering Alstonvale, Alstonville, Bagotville and nearby localities. New rental bonds in that postcode had a median weekly rent of $650 in 2025, up 4.8% from $620 in 2024. That is about 6% below the NSW median of $695. Bond medians describe new lodgements with Fair Trading, not every current lease in the suburb. Wardell recorded 89 criminal incidents in the 12 months to March 2026, down 25.8% from 120 a year earlier. These are police-recorded incidents, not convictions, and they are not adjusted for how many people live or visit here. House bonds typically leased at $700 a week and flats/units at $500. Townhouse bonds sat at $650 a week. Two-bedroom bonds had a median of $500; three-bedroom bonds $650. One-bedroom bonds sat at $400 a week. Four-bedroom bonds sat at $800 a week. Half of new bonds sat between $530 and $750 a week. Fair Trading recorded 251 new bonds in the postcode in 2025. Over 2021–2025 the postcode median moved from $540 to $650 a week. Because several suburbs share the postcode, the rent charts are a postcode picture, not a street-level one. Property offences totalled 38 and violent-related offences 27. Theft made up the largest published share (25 incidents, 28%). Next was Intimidation, stalking and harassment (12). The crime series is coded to this suburb name; the rent series, where shown, is the whole postcode.
