Waratah West recorded 246 criminal incidents in the 12 months to March 2026, up 32.3% from 186 a year earlier. These are police-recorded incidents, not convictions, and they are not adjusted for how many people live or visit here. House bonds typically leased at $650 a week and flats/units at $450. Townhouse bonds sat at $680 a week. Two-bedroom bonds had a median of $570; three-bedroom bonds $700. One-bedroom bonds sat at $290 a week. Four-bedroom bonds sat at $800 a week. Half of new bonds sat between $288 and $680 a week. Fair Trading recorded 640 new bonds in the postcode in 2025. Over 2021–2025 the postcode median moved from $372 to $515 a week. Because several suburbs share the postcode, the rent charts are a postcode picture, not a street-level one. Property offences totalled 95 and violent-related offences 67. Theft made up the largest published share (75 incidents, 30%). Next was Assault (34). The crime series is coded to this suburb name; the rent series, where shown, is the whole postcode.
