Vacy is a NSW suburb in Maitland LGA, matched to postcode 2421 — also covering Fishers Hill, Paterson, Summer Hill and nearby localities. New rental bonds in that postcode had a median weekly rent of $650 in 2025, up 18.2% from $550 in 2024. That is about 6% below the NSW median of $695. Bond medians describe new lodgements with Fair Trading, not every current lease in the suburb. Vacy recorded 20 criminal incidents in the 12 months to March 2026. These are police-recorded incidents, not convictions, and they are not adjusted for how many people live or visit here. House bonds typically leased at $650 a week. Half of new bonds sat between $530 and $770 a week. Fair Trading recorded 17 new bonds in the postcode in 2025. Over 2021–2025 the postcode median moved from $525 to $650 a week. Because several suburbs share the postcode, the rent charts are a postcode picture, not a street-level one. Property offences totalled 13 and violent-related offences 6. Theft made up the largest published share (11 incidents, 55%). Next was Assault (3). The crime series is coded to this suburb name; the rent series, where shown, is the whole postcode. The two windows are not identical: rents are calendar year, recorded crime is the 12 months to March 2026. Some person-offence categories are not itemised here because suburb geography under-counts them.
