Old Bar is a NSW suburb in Mid-Coast LGA, matched to postcode 2430 — also covering Black Head, Bohnock, Bootawa and nearby localities. New rental bonds in that postcode had a median weekly rent of $490 in 2025, up 6.5% from $460 in 2024. That is about 30% below the NSW median of $695. Bond medians describe new lodgements with Fair Trading, not every current lease in the suburb. Old Bar recorded 189 criminal incidents in the 12 months to March 2026, down 23.5% from 247 a year earlier. These are police-recorded incidents, not convictions, and they are not adjusted for how many people live or visit here. House bonds typically leased at $550 a week and flats/units at $380. Townhouse bonds sat at $550 a week. Two-bedroom bonds had a median of $410; three-bedroom bonds $510. One-bedroom bonds sat at $320 a week. Four-bedroom bonds sat at $640 a week. Half of new bonds sat between $400 and $585 a week. Fair Trading recorded 1,139 new bonds in the postcode in 2025. Over 2021–2025 the postcode median moved from $380 to $490 a week. Because several suburbs share the postcode, the rent charts are a postcode picture, not a street-level one. Property offences totalled 70 and violent-related offences 73. Theft made up the largest published share (46 incidents, 24%). Next was Assault (34). The crime series is coded to this suburb name; the rent series, where shown, is the whole postcode.
