Nimbin is a NSW suburb in Ballina LGA, matched to postcode 2480 — also covering Back Creek, Bentley, Bexhill and nearby localities. New rental bonds in that postcode had a median weekly rent of $550 in 2025, up 10.0% from $500 in 2024. That is about 21% below the NSW median of $695. Bond medians describe new lodgements with Fair Trading, not every current lease in the suburb. Nimbin recorded 274 criminal incidents in the 12 months to March 2026, up 16.6% from 235 a year earlier. These are police-recorded incidents, not convictions, and they are not adjusted for how many people live or visit here. House bonds typically leased at $600 a week and flats/units at $420. Townhouse bonds sat at $580 a week. Two-bedroom bonds had a median of $440; three-bedroom bonds $590. One-bedroom bonds sat at $350 a week. Four-bedroom bonds sat at $700 a week. Half of new bonds sat between $430 and $650 a week. Fair Trading recorded 1,107 new bonds in the postcode in 2025. Over 2021–2025 the postcode median moved from $420 to $550 a week. Because several suburbs share the postcode, the rent charts are a postcode picture, not a street-level one. Property offences totalled 78 and violent-related offences 89. Theft made up the largest published share (54 incidents, 20%). Next was Assault (47). The crime series is coded to this suburb name; the rent series, where shown, is the whole postcode.
