Newport is a NSW suburb in Northern Beaches LGA, matched to postcode 2106 — also covering Newport Beach. New rental bonds in that postcode had a median weekly rent of $920 in 2025, up 8.2% from $850 in 2024. That is about 32% above the NSW median of $695. Bond medians describe new lodgements with Fair Trading, not every current lease in the suburb. Newport recorded 276 criminal incidents in the 12 months to March 2026, up 9.1% from 253 a year earlier. These are police-recorded incidents, not convictions, and they are not adjusted for how many people live or visit here. House bonds typically leased at $1,395 a week and flats/units at $785. Townhouse bonds sat at $1,050 a week. Two-bedroom bonds had a median of $798; three-bedroom bonds $1,200. One-bedroom bonds sat at $588 a week. Four-bedroom bonds sat at $1,600 a week. Half of new bonds sat between $725 and $1,360 a week. Fair Trading recorded 244 new bonds in the postcode in 2025. Over 2021–2025 the postcode median moved from $700 to $920 a week. Because several suburbs share the postcode, the rent charts are a postcode picture, not a street-level one. Property offences totalled 130 and violent-related offences 69. Theft made up the largest published share (114 incidents, 41%). Next was Assault (32). The crime series is coded to this suburb name; the rent series, where shown, is the whole postcode.
