Nelligen is a NSW suburb in Shoalhaven LGA, matched to postcode 2536 — also covering Batehaven, Batemans Bay, Benandarah and nearby localities. New rental bonds in that postcode had a median weekly rent of $530 in 2025, up 6.0% from $500 in 2024. That is about 24% below the NSW median of $695. Bond medians describe new lodgements with Fair Trading, not every current lease in the suburb. Nelligen recorded 20 criminal incidents in the 12 months to March 2026, down 62.3% from 53 a year earlier. These are police-recorded incidents, not convictions, and they are not adjusted for how many people live or visit here. House bonds typically leased at $570 a week and flats/units at $430. Townhouse bonds sat at $500 a week. Two-bedroom bonds had a median of $450; three-bedroom bonds $550. One-bedroom bonds sat at $350 a week. Four-bedroom bonds sat at $650 a week. Half of new bonds sat between $450 and $608 a week. Fair Trading recorded 687 new bonds in the postcode in 2025. Over 2021–2025 the postcode median moved from $430 to $530 a week. Because several suburbs share the postcode, the rent charts are a postcode picture, not a street-level one. Property offences totalled 4 and violent-related offences 9. Assault made up the largest published share (5 incidents, 25%). Next was Intimidation, stalking and harassment (4). The crime series is coded to this suburb name; the rent series, where shown, is the whole postcode.
