Narrabri is a NSW suburb in Gwydir LGA, matched to postcode 2390 — also covering Baan Baa, Back Creek, Berrigal and nearby localities. New rental bonds in that postcode had a median weekly rent of $420 in 2025, unchanged from $420 in 2024. That is about 40% below the NSW median of $695. Bond medians describe new lodgements with Fair Trading, not every current lease in the suburb. Narrabri recorded 992 criminal incidents in the 12 months to March 2026, up 12.9% from 879 a year earlier. These are police-recorded incidents, not convictions, and they are not adjusted for how many people live or visit here. House bonds typically leased at $510 a week and flats/units at $300. Two-bedroom bonds had a median of $350; three-bedroom bonds $520. One-bedroom bonds sat at $230 a week. Four-bedroom bonds sat at $550 a week. Half of new bonds sat between $300 and $540 a week. Fair Trading recorded 276 new bonds in the postcode in 2025. Over 2021–2025 the postcode median moved from $318 to $420 a week. Because several suburbs share the postcode, the rent charts are a postcode picture, not a street-level one. Property offences totalled 368 and violent-related offences 317. Theft made up the largest published share (238 incidents, 24%). Next was Assault (181). The crime series is coded to this suburb name; the rent series, where shown, is the whole postcode.
