Bond medians describe new lodgements with Fair Trading, not every current lease in the suburb. Merriwa recorded 127 criminal incidents in the 12 months to March 2026, up 30.9% from 97 a year earlier. These are police-recorded incidents, not convictions, and they are not adjusted for how many people live or visit here. House bonds typically leased at $430 a week. Two-bedroom bonds had a median of $360; three-bedroom bonds $450. Half of new bonds sat between $368 and $472 a week. Fair Trading recorded 47 new bonds in the postcode in 2025. Over 2021–2025 the postcode median moved from $275 to $420 a week. Because several suburbs share the postcode, the rent charts are a postcode picture, not a street-level one. Property offences totalled 46 and violent-related offences 53. Assault made up the largest published share (26 incidents, 20%). Next was Theft (25). The crime series is coded to this suburb name; the rent series, where shown, is the whole postcode. The two windows are not identical: rents are calendar year, recorded crime is the 12 months to March 2026.
