Gloucester is a NSW suburb in Walcha LGA, matched to postcode 2422 — also covering Back Creek, Bakers Creek, Barrington and nearby localities. New rental bonds in that postcode had a median weekly rent of $450 in 2025, up 28.6% from $350 in 2024. That is about 35% below the NSW median of $695. Bond medians describe new lodgements with Fair Trading, not every current lease in the suburb. Gloucester recorded 139 criminal incidents in the 12 months to March 2026, down 3.5% from 144 a year earlier. These are police-recorded incidents, not convictions, and they are not adjusted for how many people live or visit here. House bonds typically leased at $480 a week and flats/units at $300. Two-bedroom bonds had a median of $320; three-bedroom bonds $450. One-bedroom bonds sat at $260 a week. Four-bedroom bonds sat at $520 a week. Half of new bonds sat between $350 and $500 a week. Fair Trading recorded 120 new bonds in the postcode in 2025. Over 2021–2025 the postcode median moved from $330 to $450 a week. Because several suburbs share the postcode, the rent charts are a postcode picture, not a street-level one. Property offences totalled 57 and violent-related offences 56. Theft made up the largest published share (37 incidents, 27%). Next was Assault (28). The crime series is coded to this suburb name; the rent series, where shown, is the whole postcode.
