Deepwater is a NSW suburb in Inverell LGA, matched to postcode 2371 — also covering Capoompeta, Emmaville, Rocky Creek and nearby localities. New rental bonds in that postcode had a median weekly rent of $400 in 2025, up 21.2% from $330 in 2024. That is about 42% below the NSW median of $695. Bond medians describe new lodgements with Fair Trading, not every current lease in the suburb. Deepwater recorded 20 criminal incidents in the 12 months to March 2026, down 35.5% from 31 a year earlier. These are police-recorded incidents, not convictions, and they are not adjusted for how many people live or visit here. House bonds typically leased at $400 a week. Half of new bonds sat between $350 and $425 a week. Fair Trading recorded 18 new bonds in the postcode in 2025. Over 2022–2025 the postcode median moved from $268 to $400 a week. Because several suburbs share the postcode, the rent charts are a postcode picture, not a street-level one. Property offences totalled 4 and violent-related offences 11. Intimidation, stalking and harassment made up the largest published share (6 incidents, 30%). Next was Assault (5). The crime series is coded to this suburb name; the rent series, where shown, is the whole postcode. The two windows are not identical: rents are calendar year, recorded crime is the 12 months to March 2026. Some person-offence categories are not itemised here because suburb geography under-counts them.
