Coonabarabran is a NSW suburb in Warrumbungle LGA, matched to postcode 2357 — also covering Bomera, Box Ridge, Bugaldie and nearby localities. New rental bonds in that postcode had a median weekly rent of $350 in 2025, up 9.4% from $320 in 2024. That is about 50% below the NSW median of $695. Bond medians describe new lodgements with Fair Trading, not every current lease in the suburb. Coonabarabran recorded 536 criminal incidents in the 12 months to March 2026, unchanged from 536 a year earlier. These are police-recorded incidents, not convictions, and they are not adjusted for how many people live or visit here. House bonds typically leased at $360 a week and flats/units at $240. Two-bedroom bonds had a median of $270; three-bedroom bonds $360. One-bedroom bonds sat at $210 a week. Four-bedroom bonds sat at $380 a week. Half of new bonds sat between $250 and $390 a week. Fair Trading recorded 90 new bonds in the postcode in 2025. Over 2021–2025 the postcode median moved from $220 to $350 a week. Because several suburbs share the postcode, the rent charts are a postcode picture, not a street-level one. Property offences totalled 163 and violent-related offences 171. Theft made up the largest published share (114 incidents, 21%). Next was Assault (79). The crime series is coded to this suburb name; the rent series, where shown, is the whole postcode.
