Cooma is a NSW suburb in Bega Valley LGA, matched to postcode 2630 — also covering Arable, Badja, Billilingra and nearby localities. New rental bonds in that postcode had a median weekly rent of $460 in 2025, down 2.1% from $470 in 2024. That is about 34% below the NSW median of $695. Bond medians describe new lodgements with Fair Trading, not every current lease in the suburb. Cooma recorded 425 criminal incidents in the 12 months to March 2026, down 6.6% from 455 a year earlier. These are police-recorded incidents, not convictions, and they are not adjusted for how many people live or visit here. House bonds typically leased at $500 a week and flats/units at $350. Two-bedroom bonds had a median of $398; three-bedroom bonds $500. One-bedroom bonds sat at $320 a week. Four-bedroom bonds sat at $650 a week. Half of new bonds sat between $380 and $560 a week. Fair Trading recorded 283 new bonds in the postcode in 2025. Over 2021–2025 the postcode median moved from $420 to $460 a week. Because several suburbs share the postcode, the rent charts are a postcode picture, not a street-level one. Property offences totalled 140 and violent-related offences 130. Theft made up the largest published share (96 incidents, 23%). Next was Assault (63). The crime series is coded to this suburb name; the rent series, where shown, is the whole postcode.
