Casuarina is a NSW suburb in Tweed LGA, matched to postcode 2487 — also covering Chinderah, Cudgen, Duranbah and nearby localities. New rental bonds in that postcode had a median weekly rent of $830 in 2025, up 3.8% from $800 in 2024. That is about 19% above the NSW median of $695. Bond medians describe new lodgements with Fair Trading, not every current lease in the suburb. Casuarina recorded 147 criminal incidents in the 12 months to March 2026, up 79.3% from 82 a year earlier. These are police-recorded incidents, not convictions, and they are not adjusted for how many people live or visit here. House bonds typically leased at $1,100 a week and flats/units at $735. Townhouse bonds sat at $850 a week. Two-bedroom bonds had a median of $720; three-bedroom bonds $950. One-bedroom bonds sat at $620 a week. Four-bedroom bonds sat at $1,300 a week. Half of new bonds sat between $700 and $1,100 a week. Fair Trading recorded 563 new bonds in the postcode in 2025. Over 2021–2025 the postcode median moved from $675 to $830 a week. Because several suburbs share the postcode, the rent charts are a postcode picture, not a street-level one. Property offences totalled 91 and violent-related offences 34. Theft made up the largest published share (64 incidents, 44%). Next was Malicious damage to property (27). The crime series is coded to this suburb name; the rent series, where shown, is the whole postcode.
