Bond medians describe new lodgements with Fair Trading, not every current lease in the suburb. Canowindra recorded 152 criminal incidents in the 12 months to March 2026, down 5.6% from 161 a year earlier. These are police-recorded incidents, not convictions, and they are not adjusted for how many people live or visit here. House bonds typically leased at $450 a week and flats/units at $300. Two-bedroom bonds had a median of $310; three-bedroom bonds $400. Four-bedroom bonds sat at $450 a week. Half of new bonds sat between $310 and $450 a week. Fair Trading recorded 50 new bonds in the postcode in 2025. Over 2021–2025 the postcode median moved from $260 to $390 a week. Because several suburbs share the postcode, the rent charts are a postcode picture, not a street-level one. Property offences totalled 72 and violent-related offences 53. Theft made up the largest published share (45 incidents, 30%). Next was Assault (25). The crime series is coded to this suburb name; the rent series, where shown, is the whole postcode. The two windows are not identical: rents are calendar year, recorded crime is the 12 months to March 2026.
