Birchgrove recorded 100 criminal incidents in the 12 months to March 2026, down 2.0% from 102 a year earlier. These are police-recorded incidents, not convictions, and they are not adjusted for how many people live or visit here. House bonds typically leased at $1,158 a week and flats/units at $710. Townhouse bonds sat at $1,075 a week. Two-bedroom bonds had a median of $890; three-bedroom bonds $1,350. One-bedroom bonds sat at $630 a week. Four-bedroom bonds sat at $1,965 a week. Half of new bonds sat between $650 and $1,175 a week. Fair Trading recorded 767 new bonds in the postcode in 2025. Over 2021–2025 the postcode median moved from $680 to $860 a week. Because several suburbs share the postcode, the rent charts are a postcode picture, not a street-level one. Property offences totalled 38 and violent-related offences 26. Theft made up the largest published share (30 incidents, 30%). Next was Other offences (17). The crime series is coded to this suburb name; the rent series, where shown, is the whole postcode.
