Alectown is a NSW suburb in Cabonne LGA, matched to postcode 2870 — also covering Beargamil, Bindogundra, Brolgan and nearby localities. New rental bonds in that postcode had a median weekly rent of $420 in 2025, up 5.0% from $400 in 2024. That is about 40% below the NSW median of $695. Bond medians describe new lodgements with Fair Trading, not every current lease in the suburb. Alectown recorded 21 criminal incidents in the 12 months to March 2026. These are police-recorded incidents, not convictions, and they are not adjusted for how many people live or visit here. House bonds typically leased at $440 a week and flats/units at $290. Two-bedroom bonds had a median of $350; three-bedroom bonds $420. One-bedroom bonds sat at $220 a week. Four-bedroom bonds sat at $500 a week. Half of new bonds sat between $360 and $490 a week. Fair Trading recorded 429 new bonds in the postcode in 2025. Over 2021–2025 the postcode median moved from $320 to $420 a week. Because several suburbs share the postcode, the rent charts are a postcode picture, not a street-level one. Property offences totalled 8 and violent-related offences 1. Theft made up the largest published share (7 incidents, 33%). Next was Against justice procedures (6). The crime series is coded to this suburb name; the rent series, where shown, is the whole postcode. The two windows are not identical: rents are calendar year, recorded crime is the 12 months to March 2026.
